Behind The Blog: Our 2014 In Review

Here at IndieMacUser we’d like to wish all our readers and friends world-wide a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

We made a smattering of posts in 2013 but the kevinsmith_micblog really kicked off and started getting noticed after a lull in posting on August 14th 2014 with the article Kevin Smith, Podcasts & the power of Fandom‘; still our most popular feature to date.

This article received a really great response worldwide and even led to a guest appearance on Kevin Smith ‘fan podcast’ ThatmanOnFatman.

We’ve also covered some current and breaking film news stories; including our on-going twitter campaign to get Kevin Smith’s film Tusk released in the UK. #TuskUKYes
Shortly after this we got involved with another great local film blog Battle Royale With Chebrlogoese which has been a great partnership and given us access to films pre-release for review. Please do check out their excellent reviews and features.

Another big development was our first interviews with stars of indie film Marilyn Ghigliotti & Scott Schiaffo. We hope to do more of these in 2015.

We also managed to attend out first event as official press, Cardiff Film & Comic Convention. IMG_1968_Fotor_CollageWe covered the event as well as interviewing Sylvester McCoy (the seventh doctor from the classic BBC series Doctor Who). This also marked the launch of our YouTube channel. We’ll be doing more event coverage in 2015.

We were also very pleased to be able to move to self-hosting and our new domain names &

Towards the end of the year we’ve been working on a few things including our Support Indie Film features where we showcase fund-raising campaigns for up-an-coming indie film-makers.

We also launched our popular Instagram page with regular pictorals, film news & gossip, check it out!

Moving in to 2015 we are going to focus on our strengths;
-Horror Films
-The works of writer/director Kevin Smith.
-BBC show Doctor Who
-Blu-Ray & cinema reviews.
As well as trying out a few new things that we are excited to share with you.

At this time we also welcome your feedback, contributions and ideas for collaboration so please do get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
