Our 10 Favourite Movie/TV Couples

It’s the season of love! And what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by looking back at some of our favourite couples from both the big and small screen.


Buffy & Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1997-2003)

Before there was Bella and Edward (Twilight), Buffy & Angel (Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz) set hearts alight with their typical high school romance between a superhero and a brooding vampire (a tale as old as time).

Edward & Kim (Edward Scissorhands 1990)

From Tim Burton‘s iconic film Edward & Kim (Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder) is one of the most unusual couples in film history but their romance is loved by fans around the world even 25 years on.




Ross & Rachel (Friends 1994-2004)

One of the best known sit-com couples in history Ross & Rachel (David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston) have had as many ups and downs and Joey has had one night stands.  She got off the plane !!!!!!

Bruce Wayne & Selina Kyle (Batman Returns 1batman-returns-michelle-pfeiffer-as-selina-kyle-and-michael-keaton-as-bruce-wayne992)

Another Tim Burton classic seesBruce & Selina (Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer) falling in love both as themselves and their alter-egos (Batman & Catwoman).

Brian Kinney & Justin Taylor (Queer As Folk US 2000-2005)

This dysfunctional relationship between Brian & Justin (Gale Harold and Randy Harrison) kept audiences guessing whether they would ever get together properly over 5 series.

Sam & Molly (Ghost 1990)

Despite one of the couple not being physically alive for most of the film; Sam & Molly (Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore) are still one of the most memorable couples of recent film history.

Lois & Clark (The New Adventures of Superman 1993-1997)

This series established for a generation between Lois & Clark (Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher); as well as the relationship between Lois & Superman.

Jack & Rose (Titanic 1997)

This film told the iconic tale of seventeen-year-old aristocrat Rose (Kate Winslet)  and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.

Spike & Dru (Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1997-2003)

This undead vampiric coupling of Spike & Dru (James Marsters and Juliet Landau) came smashing into the show in season 2 and left their mark on the show forever. This showed that even though their heart’s didn’t beat they could still be in love.

Satine & Christian (Moulin Rouge 2001)

Aspiring poet Christian (Ewan McGregor) falls for beautiful courtesan Satine (Nicole Kidman) who a jealous duke covets in this stylish musical for director Baz Luhrmann, with music drawn from familiar 20th century sources.
