The story revolves around young Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) still living with his mother Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) at the Bates Motel. Without giving too many spoilers this series gets into a lot more of what we know and love about the Norman character from the films and is a true TV masterpiece.

Hannibal (2013 – present)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bb/Hannibal_key_art.jpgFrom well-respected show-runner and creator Bryan Fuller (Heroes, Star Trek) this ABC show focuses on the relationship between Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) & FBI investigator Will Graham (Hugh Dancy); based on the characters from the Red Dragon novel and subsequent books/films. The show returns for it’s 3rd season on 4th June 2015 in the USA. UK fans won’t have to wait long as the premier will be on 10th June 2015 on Sky Living at 10pm.

The unique style and cinematography comes from visionary principle director David Slade.  Mads Mikkelsen delivers a stellar performance in the lead role; a true Hannibal for our times; pulling off the trick of being charming and terrifying at the same time.

This new TV adaptation for the Starz nework is set to pick up the story with an all-new script featuring Ash (with horror legend Bruce Campbell reprising his role as well as producing) in the present day; having returned to our world sometime after the events of Army of Darkness.

The original Evil Dead team of Sam Raimi, Robert G. Tapert & Ivan Raimi are all signed on to executive produce and Sam Raimi will also direct some episodes.

  1. I can’t wait for the Evil Dead series! I wasn’t keen on the 2013 remake, so having the original gang back together is a groovy Brucey Bonus (heh)

    • It’s exciting! And Sam Raimi and the producers from the original Evil Dead are heavily involved as well. And these guys know how to do TV! Raining produced Xena: Warrior Princess
