Horror Month: Top 10 ‘Final Girls’

Horror Month – June 2015

To kick off our Friday the 13th week we are going to take a look at the significance of ‘the final girl‘ and count down our top 10 !!!!!!

The final girl is a common element in horror films especially slasher films. It refers to the last woman alive to confront the killer, and lives to tell the tale. The final girl has been observed in dozens of films, and often becomes a fan favourite.

The final girl in many films shares common characteristics: she is typically sexually unavailable or a virgin whilst avoiding the vices of the victims (sex, illegal drug use etc).
