San Diego Comic Con is a fixture of the pop culture calendar every year and is considered the ‘Geek Mecca’ where many companies choose to make major announcements for their movies, TV shows and products.
Here is some of our favourite moments, panels and trailers that have been posted online over the weekend:
Meet The 13th Doctor!
We got to see the first female doctor Jodie Whittaker at her first major public appearance and the first trailer for the show was released.
She even made a surprise appearance at the Her Universe fashion show as well as appearing on Entertainment Weekly’s ‘Women Who Kick Ass‘ Panel
The Day of Warner Bros!
Saturday belonged to Warner Bros, as they dropped no less than four film trailers in their panel as well showing some in-progress footage; including footage from Wonder Woman 1984 which is mere weeks into production.
They had an added surprise for fans at the Fantastic Beasts – The Crimes of Grindelwald panel as Johnny Depp appeared on stage in character as evil wizard Grindelwald.
Still Breaking Bad 10 Years On!
Fans of seminal AMC show ‘Breaking Bad‘ were in for a real treat this year as they marked the 10th anniversary with a very special panel reuniting many of the cast.
They also showed a highlight reel with some of the best moments of the show.
Fans of Breaking Bad spin-off/prequel show ‘Better Call Saul‘ were also in for a treat as they debuted an action packed trailer for Season 4 and teased more links to the original show.
Clone Wars Saved!
In a memorable comic-con moment show creator Dave Filoni shocked fans at the Star Wars Clone Wars 10th anniversary panel by revealing the return of the show on the new Disney streaming platform in response to fans asking for it’s return on twitter for many years with the hashtag #SaveCloneWars
And the rest…

Film-maker Kevin Smith made a triumphant return to Hall H with a 2.5 hour panel and was honoured with Comic-Con’s InkPot Award.
He also took a minute to honour the late film-maker and comic aficionado Jon Schnepp (The Death Of Superman Lives: What Happened) who sadly passed away following a stroke.
The link to the GoFundMe to help with Jons family’s medical expenses is here.
And finally, indie film-makers of the Kevin Smith biopic ‘Shooting Clerks‘ had their comic-con debut with a panel in Room 6A attended by over 700 fans.
They have just launched an IndieGoGo campaign to help finish the film which can be found here.
