Original Star Wars ‘Cantina Patron’ actor Salo Gardner has passed away.
The news was confirmed by Imperial Signings this evening.
Salo Gardner was born in Czechoslovakia in 1936. Gardner was one of the 669 children, who were saved by Sir Nicholas Winton, the man who rescued mostly Jewish children from Czechoslovakia in 1939 (age 3).
Salo started his career in film in 1963 in the Cliff Richard film Summer Holiday and over the years he has also done many TV shows and commercials.
He was part of one of the most beloved films of all time, Star Wars in the iconic cantina scene, he also played a Stormtrooper in the movie.
In recent years Salo has appeared in the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Shaun of the Dead, X-Men: First Class, Captain America, Clash of the Titans and The Wolfman.
He also returned to the Star Wars universe portraying extra roles in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and the role of Trinto Duaba Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
