Halloween ‘Vault’ Searched for Lost Footage

A search has begun to find ‘lost’ footage from Halloween 5.

Fans of the Halloween franchise are used to different versions and deleted scenes existing from this 41 year old franchise.

The franchises 5 entry 1989’s Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers is no exception.

This film has a couple of deleted scenes that have to date never been unearthed, perhaps most notably including an alternate opening wherein Michael Myers (Don Shanks) washes up at the home of a man named “Dr. Death”.

Small snippets of this scene have been seen over the years on DVD extras but nothing more than a few seconds.

Compass International Pictures & Trancas International Films’ official HalloweenMovies.com account tweeted today that the search through the Halloween vaults has begun for all of the infamous “lost” footage from Halloween 5 which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Sean Decker editor of HalloweenMovies.com  notes that they’re looking for lost footage including uncut kill scenes and the Dr. Death opening!

Once found hopefully we’ll see a release in the same vain as Scream Factory’s 2014 release of the franchises sixth installment Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.
