Matt Reeves’ Batman reboot has found its Riddler.
Paul Dano is in talks to join Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. The Batman, sources tell Variety.
Though the studio would not confirm the role, insiders believe the part Dano would be playing if the deal closes, is the classic comic villain The Riddler.
Robert Pattinson is playing the Caped Crusader in the movie, taking over the role from Ben Affleck, who starred as the Dark Knight in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad & Justice League.
The Riddler (Edward Nigma or Nygma) created by Bill Finger and Dick Sprang first appeared in Detective Comics #140 (October 1948). The character is commonly depicted as a criminal mastermind in Gotham City who takes delight in incorporating riddles and puzzles into his schemes, leaving them as clues for the authorities to solve. The Riddler is one of the most enduring enemies of superhero Batman and belongs to the collective of adversaries that make up his rogues gallery.
Earlier this week Zoe Kravitz was announced to be playing Selina Kyle a.k.a. The Cat.
The Batman will begin shooting in January in the U.K. and is expected to arrive in theaters June 25, 2021.
