Peter Sarsgaard, has landed a role alongside Robert Pattinson in The Batman.
As announced by director Matt Reeves:
Robert Pattinson is playing the Caped Crusader in the movie, taking over the role from Ben Affleck, who starred as the Dark Knight in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad & Justice League.
It has not yet been announced who Sarsgaard could be portraying with many wondering if he is indeed playing a district attorney, familiar to comic book fans: Harvey Dent, the DA who becomes the villain Two-Face.
It has previously been announced that Jeffrey Wright will be playing Commissioner James Gordon, Zoe Kravitz will be playing Selina Kyle a.k.a. The Cat, Paul Dano will be playing The Riddler a.k.a Edward Nigma, Andy Serkis will be playing Alfred, John Turturro will be playing Carmine Falcone and also announced Jayme Lawson in an ‘unknown role’.
The Batman will begin shooting in January in the U.K. and is expected to arrive in theaters June 25, 2021.
