The Mandalorian Season 3 Already In The Works At Disney Plus

The October premiere date for Season 2 of The Mandalorian may still feel like it’s far, far away, but pre-production has already begun on a third installment of the Disney Plus series.

Variety has reported that sources close to the production have confirmed that creator Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while, and that the art department, led by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, has been creating concepts for Season 3 “for the past few weeks.”

“We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for the Mandalorian in Season 3,” revealed the source.

The Mandalorian, also known as Star Wars: The Mandalorian, is an American space Western web television series that premiered on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. The show stars Pedro Pascal in the title role.

Set in the Star Wars universe, the series takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter beyond the reaches of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian was the first Star Wars series to launch on Disney Plus and undoubtedly played a significant part in the service acquiring a whopping 50 million subscribers worldwide as of April 8.

The Mouse House also has two other series from a Galaxy far, far away in the works, namely an Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor reprising the iconic role, and a Cassian Andor series starring Diego Luna.
