New Casting Announcement For Star Wars: Cassian Andor Series

Another iconic Star Wars character will appear in the upcoming Cassian Andor series.

Genevieve O’Reilly is set to reprise her role as Senator Mon Mothma for the Disney+ series.


The actor who portrayed Mon Mothma in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is among four new cast members announced.

Star Diego Luna will be joined by Genevieve O’Reilly as well as newly-announced co-stars Stellan Skarsgard, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller.


Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, will write, direct and serve as showrunner for the series, which takes place five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Additional writers on the series include Dan GilroyBeau Willimon and Stephen Schiff.

A release date for the series has not yet been announced.


The Mouse House also has two other series from a Galaxy far, far away in the works, namely an Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor reprising the iconic role, and a ‘female-centric series’ in the works from Leslye Headland.


News has also broke this week that a third season of The Mandalorian is already in the works at Disney Plus ahead of the second season premiere later this year.

The Mandalorian, also known as Star Wars: The Mandalorian, is an American space Western web television series that premiered on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. The show stars Pedro Pascal in the title role.

Set in the Star Wars universe, the series takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter beyond the reaches of the New Republic.
