Disney+ has set a release date for WandaVision, its first streaming series from Marvel Studios. It will premiere on Jan. 15, 2021. Though WandaVision never had an official release date, the company previously had said the series would be release in December.
WandaVision takes inspiration from 1950s sitcoms, stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. Wanda and Vision are living their ideal suburban lives, but they begin to suspect not everything is as it seems. WandaVision launches a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as its streaming shows will impact its films. While there have been shows on Netflix and ABC that ostensibly connected to the larger MCU, they were never truly integrated in the way that the Disney+ shows are expected to.
