‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Star Wars series coming to Disney +

Warning: SPOILERS for Mandalorian Season 2 Finale.

Following the Disney Investors Day announcements which included several new live-action Star Wars shows announced for Disney Plus including ‘Ahsoka’, ‘Lando’ and ‘Rangers of the New Republic’ as well as updates on previously announced shows.

Well, now we can add another to the list. As confirmed in the final episode of The Mandalorian Season 2; we learned that fan favourite Boba Fett will indeed be back, in a set of live action adventures due to arrive in December 2021, under the title The Book Of Boba Fett.

During a post credit scene, Boba Fett and Fennec Shand return to Tatooine to take care of unfinished business.

We see Return of the Jedi character Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s old right-hand man, sitting on his throne in the old palace. Fennec (Ming-Na Wen) enters shooting most of the creatures around him, and blasting the shackles off the blue dancing girl. Then Boba (Temuera Morrison) enters. Bib exclaims, “Boba, I thought you were dead!” Boba then shoots him dead and takes the throne at Jabba’s palace.

Jon Favreau and Star Wars stalwart Dave Filoni will produce a number of the other announced Lucasfilm series for Disney Plus, so there’s a strong possibility they’ll oversee the spinoff.

Temuera Morrison is expected to reprise his role. On top of being a logical regular for The Book of Boba Fett, Ming-Na Wen is also set to return as Fennec Shand in a voice role on the upcoming Clone Wars sequel series The Bad Batch.
