CBS have confirmed that Douglas Smith (The Alienist) will be joining the Silence of the Lambs sequel series Clarice in a recurring role.Smith will play a charecter Tyson Conway. Details surrounding the character remain under wraps.
The show stars Rebecca Breeds as Clarice Starling, with the cast also including Kal Penn, Nick Sandow and Michael Cudlitz. The project is written and executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet; with Elizabeth Klaviter (“The Resident”) attached as show-runner.
“Clarice is set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The series is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.
Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice graduated Magna from UVA with a double major in Psych and Criminology. Her bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. The series was given a full series order and will debut on CBS & CBS All Access on February 11th 2021
