The final new X-Men team member will be decided by fan vote online

Marvel Comics is letting the fans vote on the final member of the next X-Men team. Cyclops and Jean Grey are reforming the X-Men on Krakoa, but they’re taking a very different approach – allowing the island’s mutants to vote on the team members.

In a surprising move, they’re allowing the fans to decide the final X-Men member in an online poll.

In 2021, Mutantkind will be selecting the first X-Men team of the Krakoan Age and you are invited to take part in the election.

Marvel’s fan vote will be 100% responsible for the determination of the final member of this inaugural team, so choose wisely as your choice will have an everlasting effect on the future of the X-Men and the world at large.

In X-Men #16, Cyclops announced that in 2021, the citizens of Krakoa will actually vote in an election to decide which mutants become the next members of the X-Men – turning the superhero group into the most democratically-minded team in the world and giving the team a serious election year.

It’s probably the biggest comic fan poll since 1988 when DC allowed fans to decide whether Jason Todd should live or die.

Votes open online from 12:00 AM EST on January 27, 2021, and close at 11:59 PM EST on February 2, and fans have been given a choice of ten mutant names.

Some of them are better known than others, but all would be very exciting to see on an X-Men team.
