Superman rumoured to come out as LGBT in new DC Comics series

According to unconfirmed reports DC Comics is preparing to make Superman gay. The claim was made during a YouTube livestream by former DC Comics artist Ethan Van Sciver who is often considered to be in-the-know when it comes to the direction of future comic books.

Van Sciver said:

“I just found out, I got a little bit of a scoop about what DC’s plans are. Nobody knows this, yet. It hasn’t really been announced, except by me. The plan is that… Superman’s book… I guess Clark Kent is going bye-bye.”

Van Sciver went on to tell DC Comics fans that the company has had issues with the trademark for Superman in the past.

Their solution, Van Sciver claimed, is that DC Comics is going to kill the original Superman character Clark Kent off in an upcoming comic.

Superman will then reportedly be replaced with Jonathan Kent, Clark Kent’s son, who will later be revealed to be gay, according to Van Sciver.

“So Superman is effectively gay, everyone. He is gay.”

Van Sciver said Clark Kent’s son will come out as gay in Tom Taylor’s series Superman: Son of Kal-El, which launched in July.img_4907

According to DC Comics official description of Jonathan Kent – Superman’s son has inherited his father’s “powers and abilities”.

“Parental legacies are hard to live up to – especially when your parents are Superman and Lois Lane.

And Jon Kent is the child of two worlds. Half Kryptonian and half human, the onset of his superpowers has made him eager to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
