Brendan Fraser is set to join Leslie Grace in Warner Bros and DC Films’ Batgirl.
Though not confirmed sources believe Fraser would play the supervillain Firefly in the upcoming movie.
Jacob Scipio also recently joined the cast to star opposite Grace in a currently unknown role.
Grace, the actor, known for her breakout role in In the Heights, is joining the DC Universe as Barbara Gordon, AKA Batgirl.
J. K. Simmons, the Oscar-winning actor is rumoured to be in negotiations to reprise the role of classic Batman character Commissioner James Gordon.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing Batgirl, from a script by Christina Hodson, the DC mainstay behind Birds of Prey and the upcoming The Flash. Kristin Burr is producing.
While plot details are under wraps, it is known that Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon, will be the character behind the cape in this version. Gordon is the most established version of the Batgirl character and was first introduced in 1961 as Betty Kane.
Batgirl does not have a release date, but Warners has previously indicated it will likely bow on HBO Max in 2023.
