Ahsoka first look teases Star Wars Rebels characters

Star Wars Celebration has given those in attendance the first look at the upcoming Disney+ Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson. It has teased that characters from Star Wars Rebels will feature in the upcoming show.

Rebels characters Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla and Chopper will be part of the live-action series.

It was also confirmed that Natasha Liu Bordizzo will play the live-action version of Sabine Wren. Bordizzo also stopped by Star Wars Celebration and shared a bit about how much this role means to her.

Bordizzo said:

“So much I could say. I feel like I’ve just been adopted into a new family. I feel that way about everyone I work with but also the fans. It’s just the most welcoming, creative… I mean, I never experienced anything like this. Set is going really well.

I know how much Sabine means to many people in this room, and I know how much she means to Dave and I think you guys are going to be really excited about the journey she’s about to have.“

All of these characters were first introduced in Star Wars Rebels and their story will continue when Ahsoka arrives in 2023.

During Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase panel yesterday Co-creator Dave Filoni stated that “Ahsoka is a continuous story,” the show was previously teased about being about Ahsoka resuming her journey to hunt down Grand Admiral Thrawn and search for Ezra Bridger.

“It is definitely driving toward a goal, in my mind, as opposed to being little singular adventures. That’s what I want the character to be doing, and I think that’s what fans want now.

They have such a relationship with her. I’ve only recently started to understand that all those kids that watched Clone Wars are now a lot older—they’re very excited about all the things they grew up with, as they should be.”
