Series 8 is the first full series of adventures with Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and Jenna Coleman returning as Clara Oswald. This series also featured Samuel Anderson as Danny Pink and Michelle Gomez as Missy, a very different incarnation of the Master.

In the midst of his self-imposed exile in Victorian London during “The Snowmen”, the Eleventh Doctor decides to ‘investigate’ a spike in levels of artron energy coming from a mortuary nearby. He soon encounters a man with greying hair who claims to be him trapped and channeling regenerative energy into the dead bodies in the room around him. The Twelfth Doctor has been drawn into a nasty and rather terrifying deathtrap with his entire future at stake and it’s going to take the help of his previous self to save the day…..if the two can find a way to get along that is……

The new series of Doctor Who will see the Time Lord joined by his first openly gay companion.
A new trailer for Doctor Who series 10 has been released today live on the Doctor Who Twitter account and BBC YouTube channel at 3pm. It received its television premiere ahead of the Let It Shine finale.
Capaldi first stepped into the TARDIS in 2013, and will leave the iconic role in the 2017 Christmas special after three incredible series of the BBC’s global hit sci-fi drama.
He made the announcement on Jo Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show tonight; speaking about the upcoming series this Spring he exclusively revealed the next series of the world’s longest running sci-fi show will be his last.
BBC Children in Need will play host to an exclusive clip from this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special on the charity’s annual Appeal night, Friday 18th November. The sneak peek will see the Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi and Nardole, played by Matt Lucas, team up with an investigative reporter played by Charity Wakefield and a masked vigilante played by Justin Chatwin to defend New York from a terrifying alien invasion before the full episode, ‘The Return of Doctor Mysterio’, airs at Christmas.
