Interview: David Dastmalchian (Gotham, The Dark Knight, The Flash, Antman)

We were delighted to catch up with actor David Dastmalchian.

David has been most recently seen on our screens in Gotham season 3 as Dwight Pollard and villian Abra Kadabra in CW’s The Flash

He got his big break playing Joker associate Thomas Schiff in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight‘. This has led on to many Film & TV Roles including playing Kurt in Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man‘.

“I used to do cut-and-pastes with my doubled copies of comics as a kid to put the DC villains against the Marvel heroes.” Continue reading

Gotham’s villains are getting really evil!

Every Batman fan must be on cloud nine right now. Fox’s hit show Gotham Season 3 is finally shaping up and its villains are looking more scary than ever before.

So maybe it’s only a matter of time before we see the young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) transform from a broken little child into a fully-fledged crime-fighting machine

The Chair (Kickstarter) – ‘More than your average Horror/Thriller ‘

Written by Benjamin Gummery

THE CHAIR is a new horror/thriller based on the successful comic book mini-series & graphic novel: adapted for screen by Erin Kohut. The film is directed by Chad Ferrin and stars Bill Oberst Jr., Timothy Muskatell, Noah Hathaway, Zach Galligan, Naomi Grossman, Roddy Piper, Ezra Buzzington, Derrick Damions, and Kyle Hester.

The story revolves around Richard Sullivan (Timothy Muskatell); an innocent man that is sentenced to die. But in this prison, there are fates worse than death as the Warden (Bill Oberst Jr.) and his guards have become thoroughly corrupted with their absolute power.

“THE CHAIR is, at first glance, your average prison horror/thriller.  But just beneath the dark and gritty surface, there’s a story – and a film – about the struggle to survive, the abuse of power, and the isolation and despair that all human beings face in their final hour.”

My first impressions from the trailer – this is like an R-rated version of Green Mile…a modern day Marat/Sade with the comic book sensibilities of Frank Millers ‘Sin City’

“There are no demons or zombies here – the only monster on death row is man“.

THE CHAIR is currently on Kickstarter raising funds for post-production https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petersimeti/the-chair-post-production-on-our-comic-book-horror

Podcasters – What, How & Why?

podcast1The podcasting medium is now as popular and visible as ever; in-part thanks to big-name podcasters such as Kevin Smith, Adam Carolla, Marc Maron, Leo Laporte & Chris Hardwick. However the majority of podcasts are started in obscurity by people with no previous media/radio experience. So why do people do it?

We talked to a group of podcasters from around the world and asked them what their show is, how they created it and why they do it.

In poker they say all you need is a chip & a chair to play. Well I learned in podcasting all you need is a laptop & a mic…”
Doctor Squee’ (Gallifrey Stands)

“I’ve always believed that podcasting needs the content to attract a listener and then loads of personality, truth and storytelling to keep them listening.”
Jason (7 Days A Geek)

“I love podcasting. I love everything about it. It is such a great medium. It takes work and dedication to build an audience but anyone with passion and motivation can create a successful podcast” –
Scott Holden (ThatmanOnFatman)
